The Investing in Nature programme is drawing to a close this year but BGCI continues to work with Mexican gardens to promote the conservation and sustainable use of the native plants in support to the subsistence of local communities by means of the fortification of the Mexican botanical gardens. MEXICO 19th March 2008 On March 13th, the Jardín Botánico Francisco Javier Clavijero Instituto de Ecología was honoured with the visit of Mr Ôlafur Ragnar Grimmson, President of Iceland, during his official visit to Mexico.
