Welcome to BGCI MexicoBotanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) in partnership with HSBC's Investing in Nature programme, is supporting the conservation of plants by botanic gardens in Mexico. The Investing in Nature programme is drawing to a close this year but BGCI continues to work with Mexican gardens to promote the conservation and sustainable use of the native plants in support to the subsistence of local communities by means of the fortification of the Mexican botanical gardens. Mexican botanic gardens are meeting this week to discuss progress towards the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation. The Puerto Vallarta garden have issued their latest newsletter. Meanwhile in the UK a huge Mexican plant has broken a glasshouse roof - perhaps it wants to join in all the fun! MEXICO

The 3rd Global Botanic Gardens Congress has drawn to a successful conclusion. Attracting nearly 1,000 participants from 67 countries, the proceedings are now online, along with blog updates, pictures and useful links for you to continue benefiting from the event.
