Botanic Gardens in the US on Google Earth

Botanic gardens and partner organizations in the United States make important contributions to plant conservation efforts both in their own neighborhoods and around the world (click here to read more). BGCI's network of botanic gardens and conservation organizations in the United States began from 12 founding members in 1993, and has now grown to over eighty members strong. (Click here to see BGCI's global network, which links to each garden's profile on our GardenSearch database.)

BGCI (U.S.), Inc. is a relatively young organization in the United States, but plays a vital role in connecting BGCI's U.S. members to its global plant conservation network. Based at Chicago Botanic Garden, which boasts a nationally-recognized plant conservation program, BGCI (U.S.) works to link the plant conservation and education expertise and resources available in the U.S. to regions where they are critically needed around the world.

BGCI welcomes a new US Executive Director. Heading up BGCI’s new US office, Andrea Tietmeyer Kramer brings an extensive knowledge of plant conservation to her new role in establishing the BGCI US office and implementing BGCI's strategy with US botanic gardens and partner organisations.
