The Rufford Foundation - Small Grants for Nature Conservation

The Rufford Maurice Laing Foundation is a private grant-making trust. It is based in the UK, but offers grants to projects worldwide through it's Small Grants scheme.

Rufford Small Grants for Nature Conservation (RSGs) are aimed at small conservation programmes and pilot projects. They were set up in 1999 and in excess of 500 have been given.

RSGs At A Glance

  • RSG's are available to individuals and small groups
  • Applications can be made at any time of the year, decisions are usually made within three months
  • We generally look for projects of about a year's duration
  • Applications from non-first world areas are strongly encouraged
